Bulk pack of 100 × 4 inch foam roller refills. Foam is the cover to reach for with thin coatings: varnishes, oil stains, high gloss paints and urethanes.

Why foam for thin material

A napped cover holds thin liquid in the fibres and then releases it in an uncontrolled rush, which is how runs and heavy edges happen with varnish. Closed foam carries a measured amount on its surface instead, so it lays a thin material as a thin film. On gloss and urethane that control is the whole job, because unevenness in a clear high sheen coat is permanent once cured.

The 4 inch format

Four inches is the detail size. With end nap construction and a small diameter it works behind pipes and radiators, beside cabinet runs, into corners and along narrow panels, painting right up to an obstruction. It fits the 11 inch handle, item #614, and the longer 14, 17 and 23 inch handles where more reach is needed.

Bulk economics

Foam covers are effectively single use with solvent products, since cleaning rarely restores them and a partly cleaned cover contaminates the next coat. A hundred pack prices them as the consumable they are.
