Replacement pad face for the 8 inch Classic Paint Pad applicator, item #1628. The applicator body, trim tabs and handle are built to outlast many pad faces, so replacing the face is both cheaper than replacing the tool and the reason this line is a working tool rather than a disposable one. The nylon pad is rated for the same coatings as the applicator: latex, acrylic and oil paints, plus stains, waxes and sealers.

When to replace

Change the face when it stops releasing paint evenly, when the nap has matted or hardened after a solvent clean, or when the edge is no longer crisp enough to cut a clean line against trim. A worn pad is the usual cause of streaking that gets blamed on the paint.
